1970 Ford Torino
Mark Boardman, who is a massive collector of 1970-’71 Ford Torinos, incidentally came across a photo of a “convertible 429 GT” for sale, and he just had to check it out.
The vendor David Elliott told Mark that this 1970 Ford Torino Cobra Jet 429 convertible was residing in a barn for 29 years.
The asking price for this rare gem was $15,000, but Mark knew it had to be worth every penny.
According to David Elliot, this was a J-code car. J-code is Ford-speak for a 429 Cobra Jet with ram air.
Upon further inspection, Mark discovered that this was truly a rare piece of machinery. The VIN revealed that this 429 Cobra Jet had the factory color combination, T-code Medium Red with white interior, air conditioning, power side windows, power top with glass backlight, power steering, power front disc brakes, G78-14 belted white sidewall tires, visibility light group, complete tinted glass, AM radio, automatic transmission, bucket seats with Comfortweave, and console, which back in the day, this was a rare commodity.
