Crankshafts – How they are made and what are their basic functions!
Crankshafts are mechanical parts that can perform a conversion between rotational motion and reciprocating motion. It a reciprocating compressor, a crankshaft converts the rotational motion into reciprocal. In a reciprocating engine, the crankshafts translate reciprocating motion of the piston into rotational motion.
Moreover, a crankshaft can be monolithic, which means that in can be made in a single piece or simply assemled from several pieces. And when it comes to making and building them, then we’re bound to look behind the scenes.
