The “Harke” was designed to carry a large cargo without resorting to a flexible sling, instead, a rigid platform was attached beneath. The monster could lift up to 25 tonnes, which back in the 60’s, that was a record.

The best feature on this helicopter were the long, rangy legs which meant it could either taxi over its cargo, or the cargo could be maneuvered underneath for attachment.
