New BMW Z5
BMW’s new Z5 Roadster has been spied again, this time winter testing and wearing a slightly more revealing disguise compared to earlier tests. The new BMW Z5 will replace the ageing second-generation model, in production since 2009.
This Z5 convertible is a fresh rival for the likes of the Porsche 718 Boxster and Toyota Supra, currently being developed in parallel and set to use the same platform.
BMW hopes will make its next roadster more unique. The new photos offer a better look at the overall shape of the car, plus its headlight and taillight clusters.
The set-back cabin, pert rear-end and long bonnet remain on the new model and the kidney grille looks to be larger than ever. This car will use the same lightweight body construction as the i3 and i8. We expect a full reveal of the new BMW Z5 convertible later this year.
