Unique torque vectoring electric drive system enters the real world!
GKN Automotive finally let its eTwinster technology show its real face to the world, as automakers continue to test the torque vectoring electric drive system.
This thing is a plug-in hybrid module that they showcased at the company’s Wintertest which proved to be a unique all-wheel drive drive-line option.
The eTwinster is build to offer automakers a combined solution for plug-in all-wheel drive and hybrid platforms. Simply put, it is a combination of eAxle technologies that the company provides for companies such as BMW, Porsche, and Volvo.
A total production of 1,770 lb-ft of torque is sent through the dual clutch system, with ratios of course. A practical and efficient invention, indeed.
