Toyota CVT – The continuously variable transmission explained!

Toyota CVT

A continuously variable transmission contrasts other mechanical transmission in its ability to change seamlessly through a continuous range of effective gear ratios. The CTV, unlike the others, allows the input shaft to maintain a constant angular velocity.

Well, Toyota is definitely not going to back out when that kind of design is in question. Its innovative design doesn’t really use standard gears- it features a “universal’ gear. You can’t feel the gear shafts there. The transmission keeps a constant engine speed and is probably the best one out there.
