Its an experimental technology that could find use in the Marines by inserting troops in areas where the current modes of transportation can’t easily reach.

US Marines Unveil The Ultra Heavy-lift Amphibious Connector Prototype!

The US Marines unveiled this prototype at Marine Corps Training Area Bellows on Oahu, Hawaii during a Marine Corps Advanced Warfighting Experiment.

In its proposed full-size version, the UHAC concept is designed to power across the water with a payload of nearly 200 tons, with a top speed up to 20 knots (23 mph/37 km/h).
