What Is An Air Suspension
Air suspension systems have long been used in the trucking world, but in the last few years or so, they’ve moved into the commercial world. From motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, custom cars, and even performance cars, they are all using the air suspension systems.
What Is An Air Suspension, And How Does It Work?
As the name suggests, instead of metal coils or leaf springs, an air suspension system uses air springs. This type of suspension is powered by an electric or engine-driven air pump or compressor. This compressor pumps the air into a flexible bellows, usually made from textile-reinforced rubber. The air pressure inflates the bellows, and raises the chassis from the axle.
