The video below allows us to experience (from afar) what’s it like inside the diesel house in Copenhagen. In 1930’s, Burmeister & Wain (B&W) built the CM 884WS-150 making it the first massive engine of its kind. And even though many years have passed since then. this beast is still functioning.
This enormous diesel engine features eight cylinders and produces around 22,500 hp. They fire this engine up every first and third Sunday of the month, as it is mainly used as a tourist attraction nowadays.
The whole procedure lasts for 5 to 10 minutes and that’s about it. Check out the start up!
