After two years of a lot of hard work and obstacles, the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) project is finally over. The world’s largest telescope is functional and began searching for signals from other galaxies and starts.
Clearly, China’s rising ambition in space has been demonstrated with FAST. It’s a grand astronomy faculty, unlike any other in the world, capable of reading signals that are hundreds of light-years away. Moreover, the half-kilometer-wide dish is suited in a stunning landscape, nestled in a natural depression.
Its location is of great importance as this way it can probe dark matter, gravitational waves and listen from transmission from alien civilizations.
